　　The XU Guangqi (one year) and CAI Yuanpei (three years) 2015 programs to support Sino-French research have just been launched. These programs involve the entire People's Republic of China (except Hong Kong and Macao) in all scientific disciplines, hard sciences as well as Humanities and Social sciences. They are carried out by the French Ministry of foreign and European affairs (MAE) through the Office for science and technology (SST) and the Department for Cooperation and Cultural Action (SCAC) of the Embassy of France in China. 　　 

　　*Xu Guangqi is a program aimed at developing scientific cooperation between French and Chinese researchers belonging to research laboratories in both countries. This program supports cooperation in their first stage.  　　 

　　Any research laboratory attached to institutions of higher education, research organizations or companies can apply. The active participation and mobility of young researchers, particularly PhD students or post PhD fellows, is one of the first criteria of selection. 　 

　　Dates of the selection process: 

　　· Deadline for the submission of candidature files: 19 January 2015 

　　· Publication of the results: from 15 April 2015 

　　· Start of the project: from 20 April 2015

　　* The Cai Yuanpei program supports scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between French and Chinese research laboratories. The goal of this program is to develop scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between research laboratories of both countries and built around joint PhDs (or at least co-directed) by the French and Chinese laboratories. Exchanges have to involve experienced researchers, post-PhD fellows (named as researchers) and PhD students. 　　 

　　The projects have to be built around one or two thesis clearly defined and specified by the teams. The works of the PhD students involved will be co-directed by the French and Chinese researchers. 　　 

　　Dates of the selection process: 

　　· Deadline for the submission of candidature files: 20 February 2015 

　　· Publication of the results: end of June 2015 

　　· Start of the project: July 2015
